Why ISPM-15 Treatment is Mandatory for export Packaging?
- The Purpose of Heat treatment and Fumigation in Export Pinewood box packaging is to stop the introduction and spreading of pests and insects through woods to other countries
- Pests associated with wood have a negative impact on forest health
- So implementing ISPM-15 Standard will control and reduce this risk
- Processed woods have already done this treatment so for those packaging Heat treatment is not mandatory, it means Plywood Export box does not require ISPM-15 treatment
- ISPM-15 treatments are applicable to Packaging materials such as Wooden Creates, Pinewood Boxes, Packing Cases, Wooden Pallets, Cable Drums, and Spool/reels, etc.
